A UNIFIED ALLIANCE FOR PRESERVATION AND PROGRESS
Founded on friendship and a shared passion, we foster open collaboration both at home and abroad to produce a versatile, high-quality line of dogs. We are bound by a single commitment: to breed healthy, stable, and structurally superb black Standard Schnauzers that honor the breed standard and shine in health, temperament, performance, and conformation.
Welcome to the Black Dog Initiative
A collective of Standard Schnauzer breeders who share a simple goal: helping black Standard Schnauzers reach their full potential. We believe preservation breeding works best when we collaborate rather than work in isolation.
By partnering with dedicated breeders across the globe, we hope to support sustainable lines that balance health, temperament, performance, and structure. We are always learning, and we welcome anyone who shares a love for this wonderful breed to join us.
Meet the Founders
“We are three distinct breeders, brought together by a shared admiration for the Standard Schnauzer and a singular vision for its future. Separately, we have dedicated years to studying pedigrees, health testing, and proving our dogs in competition. Together, as The Black Dog Initiative, we combine our diverse strengths, bloodlines, and expertise to achieve what no single kennel can do alone.”
“We cannot accomplish all that we need to do without working together.” – Bill Richardson
